Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the big day and I have to admit that I am kind of nervous. Ive been on vacation mode with eating these last few weeks and have eaten nothing but junk. I feel overall disgusting from all of the unhealthy food. This isn't me at all and I know it's going to be physically and mentally challenging starting this system. I've been eating decent sized meals recently and my body has come to expect them. I anticipate being really hungry the first week until I get my stomach shrunk back to where it needs to be. I have decided to set a goal for myself to get me started. If I can complete an entire 7 days without messing up then I am going to buy myself a new piece of Vera Bradley. It may sound ridiculous but once this first week is over I know I can do anything.

We are currently heading home from the beach and my shakes are at my apt complex office. I'm going to call them and see if they can put them on my porch since I will be home after they close. Hopefully they will and I can go to the grocery store tonight. I went to target while I was on vacation to get an individual shake blender recommended by another shake junkie. I was excited to find up but became quickly disappointed when I opened the box to find it was cracked. Hopefully they have more in stock at my target and I can just go and switch it out.

Exciting news, my friend Aubrey has joined the challenge. I can't wait to see the results she has with the system. I have another friend that is signing up soon in hopes to lose some weight before she gets married in march. It's going to help a lot to have people doing this with me.

Until tomorrow, happy shaking!

Motivation

I have two pictures serving as my motivation for the 90 day challenge. I plan on posting them when I get home from vacation and back to a computer. I am tired of feeling uncomfortable in my clothes, sluggish and all around unhappy with my current weight. I am excited about losing weight the healthy way and not falling back into old habits of anorexia. It's refreshing to know that I don't have to count calories and become chained to my bathroom scale.

Like I said, I'm on a mini vacation with the family in Galveston but truth be told I am already looking forward to getting home and starting this adventure on Monday. Hopefully I will have made some decent progress by the first day of school which is three weeks into my start date. I have been hesitant to post my "before" pictures and weight because honestly they gross me out. I am thinking about throwing it all out there after my two week mark.

As far as working out goes I have been contemplating buying a bike for some time now. The only thing that was stopping me was the thought of carrying it up to my third floor balcony every time I ride. How silly right? If anything I will burn a few extra calories in the process. I have NO idea where to start in buying a bike. I have some pretty cool trails close to me that would be fun to ride and maybe meet some new people in the process. Does anyone have any bike buying tips? Feel free to share them!

Enough rambling! I am very excited! Here's my quote for today:

“In order to change we must be sick and tired of being sick and tired.” ~Unknown

BodybyVi

On August 1st I am starting the BodybyVi 90 day weight loss challenge. I first heard about this system from one of my friends from high school. I have watched her post about this "amazing shake" for the past three months and didn't really pay any attention. Her pictures show her shrinking and she raves about how wonderful they are constantly. A few weeks ago I had another friend jump on the Visalus bandwagon. In two weeks she lost 7 lbs and is looking amazing. I have chosen the Shape Kit which has me replacing 2 meals a day with the Vi shakes. For the third meal you can choose whatever you like. There are literally hundreds of ways to customize the shake according to your likes and cravings. Some of the recipes include Butterfinger, birthday cake, chocolate cheesecake, strawberry banana and turtle cheesecake. (Can you tell I like sweets??)

My goals for the 90 days:
- Lose 20lbs
- Lose 2 pants sizes
- Work out at least 3 times a week
- Complete The Trot 8 mile race on Thanksgiving Day with a smile on my face and not feeling like I am going to die at the end! :)

My plan:
- Visalus shake for breakfast (most are under 300 calories)
- Mid-morning snack (fruit, celery and peanut butter, string cheese etc)
- Visalus shake for lunch (this will work great for school because I am always busy!)
- Mid-afternoon snack (something comparable to morning snack)
- Dinner will be whatever I am feeling at the time.

My main downfall are sweets and with some of the shake options I don't anticipate having nightly sweet cravings when I am drinking Butterfinger and triple chocolate shakes as my meals

Another thing I like is there is no calorie counting like other diets. There is flexibility to tailor the diet to your needs.

I can't wait to share my progress on here. My hope for this blog is to keep me motivated and hopefully inspire a few people get healthy as well!
